As a classroom teacher, I am on the frontline of education. Most of the decisions made by the board impact our classrooms immediately: I teach the curriculum prescribed, I give the mandated tests, I use the contracted software. I also witness the impacts on the students and families for both the good and the bad. As a teacher, I will provide the board with relevant, fact-based feedback from someone who actually is affected by it daily.
My background puts me in frequent contact with the education stakeholders where the topic of conversation is EDUCATION. I talk with parents, students and school administrators daily and will provide the board with pertinent, immediate feedback.
As a financial analyst in corporate America, I am also well versed in the principles of accounting and working with multi million-dollar budgets. I have seen first-hand the positive impacts of conservative financial decision making.
